Introduction 

As a former hazardous waste inspector for the states of Kansas, Missouri, and Virginia, I can assure you that states and EPA Regional offices are serious about facilities complying with the state and federal hazardous and solid waste regulations. It is important that you, the generator, understand that it is your responsibility to comply with the regulations and that the regulations are self-implementing. That means, that in almost all cases, you are subject to the regulations even if you are not aware of the existing, new or amended regulations that have been published. The fact that you may not have been inspected does not diminish your obligation to fully comply.  As a former enforcement officer for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Bureau of Waste Management, you should be aware that the enforcement process can be demanding and often very expensive.

Understanding and implementing an effective day-to-day envrionmental management program is the key to complying with today's rigorous environmental regulations.

What I Do

I offer compliance assistance and audits to every generator in Kansas, specializing in assistance to smaller facilities that may not have or need a full-time environmental staff. Audits may cover hazardous wastes, non-hazardous wastes, special wastes, used oil, universal wastes, waste tires.

You will be provided with an initial compliance audit to assess your compliance with the Kansas hazardous and solid waste regulations and statutes. 

• Conduct a thorough on-site audit of the entire facility, including records.
• Provide a written assessment of your current compliance.
• Make recommendations as necessary.
• Assist with correcting any deficiencies, including any outstanding issues.
